Tell us something about your life outside of CrossFit (career, family, hobbies, etc).
I am very family oriented with my immediate family and my extended family. My cousins are some of my best friends. I teach health and physical education and coach in the CR school district. I love what I do! In my free time I enjoy working out in some way either at the gym or by playing in adult sports leagues (field hockey, soccer, softball, etc.) My hobbies besides sports include puzzles, movies, and coloring/painting/drawing. Other then that, I am a simple person who wants to enjoy life!
My favorite book or movie: anything marvel, specifically guardians of the galaxy
My favorite local restaurant: Issac Newtons or Oishi
Tell us something that we don’t know or would be surprised to learn about you: I love to be creative & make things. Especially baking and trying new ideas. I am also an anxious person.
How I was introduced to CrossFit: Coach Matt works with some of our teams at cr north and kept hinting about how I would enjoy CrossFit. So after a few hints I decided to try it out and it was the best thing I have done for myself fitness & health wise!

My thoughts after my first CrossFit workout: this was intense and I love how I feel
My proudest CrossFit accomplishment is: Doing my first rope climb (thanks Michelle) & Completing the Wod with 140 wall balls and it was the first wod at RX. It felt like forever but with classmates push, I finished!
My favorite WOD is: anything with abs & box jump overs or jump rope
My Favorite Lift is: Back Squat or Deadlift
My next goal is: doing more workouts rx even if it takes a longer time to complete and muscle ups!
How has CrossFit affected your life outside of the gym? It has made me less anxious and helped with my overall health!
What I love most about CrossFit Newtown: The support from coaches and class members. No matter what the workout I can always rely on a positive or motivating person to push me through!
What advice I would give to someone just joining CrossFit Newtown: No matter how hard the workout always remember the people around you and the support you have!
