Tell us something about your life outside of CrossFit (career, family, hobbies, etc). I have 2 beautiful children, like to collect Polynesian tikis/masks and want to quit my job and be a park ranger and make syrup from maple trees.
My favorite book or movie: Books: Lord of the Flies and Martian Chronicles Movie: Braveheart and any good horror and sci-fi movie…
My favorite local restaurant: Probably the snack isle at the Giant Supermarket.
Tell us something that we don’t know or would be surprised to learn about you: I was an exotic dancer in a prior life (haha) and I sing, really well I might add, 80’s hair band and Seattle grunge songs in the shower!
How I was introduced to CrossFit: I was running past one of your workouts one day outside. So, I stopped to watch and Bucky came up to me and “introduced” me to it…
My fitness routine before CrossFit: Triathlon, adventure races and a basic boring gym.
My thoughts after my first CrossFit workout: I want to do more! Then, the next day, I couldn’t sit on the toilet because I was so sore.
My proudest CrossFit accomplishment is: It hasn’t come yet J
My favorite WOD is: Any WOD with Burpees!
My Favorite Lift is: Probably deadlifts and Cleans…
My next goal is: To be in top 200 hundred in the world in my age group. A huge goal but obtainable if I can continue to work and stay healthy.
How has CrossFit affected your life outside of the gym? I can now wash my clothes on my washboard stomach. Seriously, Crossfit has become a lifelong staple in my life. With it comes confidence, stability, and a positive outlook in all facets of my life.
What I love most about CrossFit Newtown: There are a lot of really neat and colorful people that I have had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know better.
What advice I would give to someone just joining CrossFit Newtown: Stay with it and reap the rewards to follow! Enjoy it but work hard. You will be surprised what you can actually accomplish!
Do you have any diet/nutritional advice? I have a strict diet of tortilla chips, captain crunch and sour patch kids. My advice is to not take my advice and eat well!
